I did some searching but wasn't able to find an answer. I'm assuming my problem is the dccv since it always seems to be the problem but I figured I'd ask. I have a 2003 V8.

Anyway, I've noticed that when I turn the heat on in my car I can feel hot air coming out of the vents and hear the motor working (it obviously gets louder the more I turn it up) but my vents don't seem to really be blowing hot air. The hot air just kinda 'leaks' out of them. The car does get warm but when I have the heat on full blast and hear the motor working so hard, I feel like it should really be blowing out of the vents.

I don't know too much about the climate control systems in these cars but do they have blower motors? If I remember correctly, the blower motor on my parents tahoe went out and while the motor sounded like it was on and working, it wasn't actually circulating any air. Thanks for the help in advance!

Doesn't sound like the DCCV.
First step: Check the cabin air filter. Is it clogged?
If you select recycle (instead of fresh) do you get much better airflow?

I tried a bunch of different things. Changing the temp, changing how hard it blows. Turning it on and off, changing from 'auto' to defrost, to just the vents, etc. and nothing seemed to help.

The cabin filter was replaced (not cleaned, but replaced with a new filter) about a year ago and I've reset the message center only once when it told me to change it so I think it should be ok but I'll check it. I was always under the impression they don't usually get terribly dirty and they can go for a 'reset' or two before you actually have to replace/clean them...
Thanks Joe - helpful as usual!

If the motor gets louder but you're not feeling anything more coming out of the vents, maybe it's just not reaching the vents. Did you feel for increased airflow at the floor vents or defroster when you turn it up? If so, I'm guessing your door isn't opening or closing to direct the airflow to your vents. Try the datc self diagnostic and see if comes up with any codes?

Joegr always has good advice and I've noticed seems to be especially helpful with DCCV information
