Ignition problems?

Sometimes when I go to start my car, it will not start without having to wiggle the stick shift. HELP???????? What wrongs?

Are you not able to turn the key? Or does the key turn all the way but nothing happens?

The key turns, but nothing happens. Lights, radio come on, but engine will not crank!

Transmission digital range switch? This switch does many things, and one of them is to prevent starter operation if the transmission is in gear. There is no separate neutral safety switch.

Your shift cable may be out of adjustment and is not allowing the range switch on the transmission to move to the full park position.
Or the switch itself could be bad. But either way it has nothing to do with the actual shifter.

Adjusting the cable is fairly straightforward, but you need to be under the car to do it.
