Anyone know anything about the ignition control drivers on the LS, particularly the gen1 v6?

The reason I ask is because I tried a different COP9and brand) from a ford MOD motor and no matter what I did I would get a misfire after the engine ran for a little bit. It didn't seem the care if I used 1, 2, 3, or all 6 of these other coils it would do the same thing. At first I though it was a failing coil so I would swap them out put the same thing would happen. Finally a code popped and I check it and it said random misfire and low resistance on the new coils. If I snapped the throttle it would miss until close to idle and run fine for about 1 1/2 seconds the miss again. After hours of trying everything I could think of and taking the intake off 3 times I figured the coils won't work with the computer.

Looks to be a loss. Joegr is particularly knowledgeable on the electronics, but not necessarily the V6's. A few users have AllData access and can look up specific info, but this is pretty open ended.

If the coils you swapped in have significantly different specs than the stock, then I assume that could cause problems for the PCM.

Just to be clear, you still have the misfire when using all stock coils?
