My lincoln has a 2.5" exhaust starting from the cats. has a 2.5" stainless X pipe, 2.5" magnaflow magnapack mufflers (straight through design) and then 2.5" piping to the tips.

Its getting really freaking annoying lol. This is a hard question because normally we are doing the opposite, making the exhaust louder.

i looked under my car today and there is zero room for any more mufflers. the mufflers i have they are placed where the stock resonators would be. so now im not sure what to do. Any ideas on how to get it quieter without spending as much money as i did to make it loud? Swapping out the mufflers wouldnt do much good in my mind because the only thing that will fit there will be straight through design.

anyone know of any silncers or anything?

well the best ive found is this 12" resonator on ebay. its 9.5" long so thats good. i have like zero room to work with. im wondering if it would be bad to have my resonators feed basically straight into my x pipe, and then my xpipe has about 5 inches befor the mufflers...

EDIT: i just measured the straight sections of exhaust piping. i have one section thats about 15 inches. so a 12" would fit...

the real question is this now. i have dual exhaust so it would be 1 resonator per. Will a 12" resonator even make a difference?

why did you have the mufflers put there? do they sit lower then normal, if they do then i bet speed bumps are fun

no everything tucks fine. ive never bottomed out in this car other then on alignment racks, and thats just because its lowered.

I put the mufflers there because the last muffers i had were in place of the stock mufflers. 1 winter and they were done from all the salt/snow spraying directly onto them from the back tires. So i made a smart decision and moved them mostly out of harms way, and also got stainless steel.

But yea...think 9.5" of resonator will make a difference?
