I'm tired of cold, warm, cold, and warm butts.. Has anyone figured out an easy way to keep the heated seats from turning off in the first gen LS? Is it possible that a computer flash can update them to keep them on unless the user turns them off?

If not, I may design a 555 timer circuit to fool the computer into thinking that I am pushing the button evey 10-15 minutes (or how long the seat normally stays on) so that the seats cycle back on indefinitely until I manually push the button to turn them off.

My bmw has two positions..low and hi temp. If you put it on hi, it switches to low after about 15 mins and remains on low until you turn the seats or the car off. The LS seems to only have hi temp, and as u noted, it turns off after 15 mins or so.

I assume car manufacturers have some sort of reason for the auto shutoff happening. Perhaps too much voltage for too long can damage the elements?

Either way...I dont find it that hard to just...press the button again?

Glad I have a 2nd gen heated/cooled seats with auto controlled by the climate control.

The manual says it is to prevent tissue damage (tissue of the human in the seat). The gen II seats run an algorithm that varies temperature enough to prevent injury.

I know whit mine, I hit both heat and AC at the same time and it sets the temp of the seat to what ever the temperature is.
