how to and how hard

I have done a couple of spring installs on other cars, but how hard is it to do a spring swap to an LS? Just because i am busy for the next couple weeks and want them in, i called the dealer to see how long they estimate and they said its a whole day job. I did it with rented spring compressors from Autozone on a Mazda MX3 and a Ford ZX2 both took about 3 hours, swapping struts and all.

if you have the proper tools, id say 4-5 hours if you're by urself, if you have a helper or two id say 3-4 hours, I had to torch off my front stabilizer bar link nut to get to the shockmount bolt(its blocked in the front), and that was an added hour of work due to me having to drive 30 minutes to get the nuts. Other than that it was pretty straight forward, make sure you mark the shocks BEFORE you compress and take the springs off.(if you didnt know already)

I'd say between 3-5 hours depending on your skills, and quality of your tools. Plus any odd-ball issues you run into. When I did mine, I did shocks, springs, swaybar endlinks, rotors, pads, brake system flush, stainless brake lines, cam cover gaskets, and fuel filter; took me an entire day, sun up to sun down. And on my own cars, I'm pretty anal and take extra time on everything.

So long as you can get a compressor and have a jack and atleast two stands... you should be able to do it
