If I go out and buy a power chip for the internal CPU in my Mark VIII what type of increase in horsepower can I expect? Who has the best chip for a 1995 Mark VIII? One more question. Will there be a Mark IX or has Lincoln decided to end the line? :eek2:

Call Geno @ lincolnmotorsport.com. He is a vendor here and has been selling performance Mark VIII stuff longer than anyone. His chips rock. It not the hp increase you can get, its the tighter, crisper shifts that the chip programs for the tranny that really makes the difference.

Loook on the right side of the screen. Look him up. He'll help you out.

The Mark IX and X and even the well received Navicross has been shelved.

Lincoln BLOWS!! Caddy is kickin' the livin' $hit outta Lincoln so bad. They should fire ALL Lincoln engineers and start from scratch!! IDIOTS!

There is something to be said about the big cheeses up in ford,
Isn't it nice that a truck carries the mark name instead of a coupe?

i am looking for a chip i could program dynamically with my laptop - are any available?

Yes, check with Sniper Tuning. They're stuff is sort of like SCT but more do-it-yourself and they're chips will take up to 6 programs instead of 4.

just the chip its self is just a waste of money... bout 1- 5 hp, maybe more then 1.....spend money on something else....

Don't know what chip your referring to and how you come to the conclusion of it "being a waste of money" Our chip RIPS and has been worth 12-14 on Gen one's.

True but look how many people own and want to buy lux trucks/suvs vs say a 2 door lincoln. Besides the profitability of the truck vs the car.

More Horsepower to you

So an LMS chip provides 12-15 HP gain does it, what about the LMS exhaust for the Gen I's how much HP gain for those, and finally whats the most horsepower that can be squeezed from these cars at a moderate budget of course as not everyone can throw 10's of G's at their car. Lets say a person had maybe 1-3 G's to blow What kind of performance gains can be had and what is the HP gain for each mod. I 'd like to get an idea of how much money I should put aside for upgrading my Mark over the next few years.

Something like this?

It's not just diesel, theres a gas model - it doesn't say how I would program the chips, but it looks promising. Anyone else know anything about these? Could I buy programs from LMS and program them into this chip? Geno?

That is sad to hear that Lincoln doesn't have the balls to compete against Cadillac. But aren't we really talking about Ford and GM. It looks like GM is making waves but Dodge definitely blows them all away. Hemi power is back and that Viper engine is nothing to sneeze at. Ford and GM look like there are waiting for something. Dodge is rolling over both of them. That new Mustang is nice but GM's Pontiac GTO with 400 hp blows it away. Dodge plans to come out with a Hemi Charger next year. If they could only increase the cubic inches on that Hemi to a respectable 427 inch or offer it with a Viper V10 engine that would be awesome. I would love to see a retro Hemi Cudu with a lot of the lines from the 72 Cuda with a Hemi or Viper engine offered. If they made one they wouldn't be able to fill all the orders.

The Mustang is 7-8k cheaper than the GTO, but the GTO is only 0.2 faster in the 1/4 mile according to motor trend. You can get 0.2 with a chip :)

the mustang and the gto are not comparable cars. One is a 2 door personal luxury sport available with an auto only - the other is a compact sports car with a standard tranny and a convertible option. very different markets.

Not that it matters a whole lot,but is there truth to the story i heard that the "new" hemi is almost not even really hemispherical,i 've been reading that there are a lot of other engines on the road that are far more"hemi" like than that new hemi.

i know i am not impressed with it,i am more impressed with what GM has done with there small block v8 ....Viper v10 like 500 hp in there upcoming "small block" corvette z07. nice

??????????????????/
