it seems a lot of cars nowadays have heated seats. but i dont think i can think of any others that have cooled.

with cooled seats include the Audi A8; BMW 760, 750 and M5; Bentley Continental Flying Spur; Buick Lucerne; Cadillac DTS, Escalade, STS, XLR and DTS; Ford Expedition and GT; Infiniti M35 and M45; Lexus ES, GS, IS and LS; Lincoln LS, Navigator and MKZ; Maserati Quattroporte; Maybach 57 and 62; Mercedes-Benz S, SL, CL, CLK, CLS, E and SLR; Mercury Monterey; Saab 9-5; Toyota Avalon; and VW Phaeton.

if you are talking about LS's then its just the 2nd gens as stated, I know of many others that have cooled or both. My SS came with heated, I added cool and massage to that though, very nice :).

How much did the massage run, and does it put you to sleep while driving?

Cadillac has been sporting cooled seats since the late 90's, same with Mercedes, and BMW. I'm sure there are others.

Used my cool seats this last saturday....very nice...tho the passenger seat doesnt work (in shop now under warranty) but it was nice. i can see it being REALLY nice come middle of June or July.

Oh yes, they are very nice in the summer months. Especially if you have remote start, and set the AC and the seats to turn on when the car starts. Then give it a few minutes to cool off inside before you get in. It's like sitting down in a refrigerator. :D

Did you use a kit to add it? Any links? Thanks.

The best part of the cooled seets in my opinion is that after driving for a long time and your butt gets a little sore you can turn it on and cool off a bit. Make long trips in the MKZ a little more enjoyable. I'd still rather be driving my Mark though. I need to figure out how to duct cool air into the seat from the vent that runs to the back seat. Any ideas? Think i'll start a thread about that.

How hard would it be or would it even be possible to put the 2nd gen cooled seats in a first gen? Or would it just be easier to try and cool the first gens?

Well.....

You would need the perforated seat covers, all the ducting and wiring, etc. You could probably do it, but at what cost. The easiest way would probably be what warden said. You would still need the perforated leather and there would be no real way of controlling the temp.

To have the friend who worked at an aftermarket shop(where you get various upgrades obviously) it cost I believe around $200 to have them do the cool and massage in the seats(I was having alot done to the car so do not really remember with searching for the paper), I got a really good discount though and do not know how much normally it would run for anyone just coming in. They have not put me to sleep yet, but than again I have not driven it a long distance with them on and such to find out hahaha.
