Hi guys!
Here Im with others questions. I took my LS to change oil, and the mecanic told me that i need to replace the engine mounts. But first i have to fix the oil leaking.
So, I have two problems now:

1- Oil leaking.
2- Engine mounts.

I need more information about these issues. How much does the mounts cost and where to get it.
Also today the "Engine Check" came out. Im getting worried!:(

Thx for your help.

is it a V6 or V8? Don't know about the motor mounts but if it is a V6 and the leak is the oil pan gasket, probably looking at $500-$700 for that alone (for a shop to do it). It is a bear that I have yet to tackle (or pay for) and frankly I may not have the skillset to do so (the manual mentions some pretty wicked tasks to get to it)... Hear the V8 is much easier...

Good luck...

Motor mounts

Turns out the slight thumping/clunk after hitting potholes was not coming from the suspension. I could have sworn it was a bad sway bar end link or bushing, but turns out both(are there more?) of my engine mounts are broken, or so my mechanic says

Any more info on these guys? Where to get at a good price? Or a part number?

check the mounts out for yourself (i would). put the car in R and D and power brake a little. works better with two people (one to watch the engine, other power brake)

Really....? I'm about to tear the suspension apart to fix this same issue. I have new ES sway bar bushings that I'm going to put in but if that doesn't fix the problem I'll be crushed haha

You can open your hood and look through the crack between the hood and the cowl to see this using a brake test. Forward will show up as the left side of the engine lifting too much, reverse would show the right side lifting too much. Two motor mounts per car, check rockauto.com, that is where i bought mine. Semi-easy job, but not 100% easy. You need to drop the bottom cross member slightly to generate the clearance you need to get the mount out. Be careful, because a broken motor mount is filled with uncapped oil, and turning the broken motor mount upside down will pour that oil out.

Whats "too much"?

I just performed this test on my 2002 V8 LSE with 136k miles that has a mild clunking over rutted roads. It could be the energy suspension sway bar bushings that I replaced two years ago, but Im thinking maybe it's time for engine mounts?

In Drive with a powerbrake test, I could see the drivers side of the engine lift about 3/4 of an inch. In reverse with a powerbrake test, i could see the passenger side of the engine lift about 3/4 of an inch.

nothing close to this:
