i had to replace the tstat housing because of a crack in the threads where the fill cap goes, i managed to get the bolts off , but at an impossible angle, how should i go about to put it back on, do i have to take more of the engine apart to get a better angle for the back 2 bolts on the housing, this is behind the tstat, the 2 back bolts. thanks

looks like a normal ratchet set should do the trick. The one circled in the pic doesn't look hard at all.

thanks for the replys

i know it might look very easy, but when the bolt is underscrew all the way, the bottom of the intake manifold block the rest of the bolt to come out, i had to do it at an angle, but to put it back in at an angle i dont want to strip the metal it screws into, im wonderin if i could cut away some of the plastic on the intake manifold cover

I had to to this myself...took me about 3 hours or so.

You need a 7mm or 8mm wrench

haha, same with me, about 1 hour for the right one, and 2 hours for the left, but the left one was so hard to get because of the bottom of the intake manifold, i am planning to remove the intake mfold to get the best angle for the bolts before replacing the tstat housing because i dont want a leak ill let you know how it goes thanks

Yeah, I popped the hood on my LS to see what you were talking about. :eek2:
Good luck.
It looks like you might be able to squeeze in there with a universal adapter 1/4 in drive and if not...
I would invest in some ratchet wrenches.

Its actually pretty simple with the correct tools.
Some guys left the back COP cover bolts out, to speed up the time it takes to change coils, and/or plugs....or so I understand...
