Horse power for a 2002 Lincoln LSE

I have been reading many articles about my car. One thing they do not say for sure is the horse power my engine puts out. One says, 252 one says 280. So who is right. I would sure like to know. It is a 2002 Lincoln LSE. Also besides a direct fit from another car of the exact year and model, what other engines will fit without complications? Kind of lost on these matters. I have also read and been told that the engine is the same one used in a Thunderbird and a Jaguar. Is that correct or just someone wishing it was? The vin# for my car is 1LNHM87A52Y685858. If you have any further question about the car or specific's please ask. I would really like to know this information>>even if it is just direction's to another web site that cover's my questions. I also have another quick question, LSE's start in 2nd gear, is their anyway to bypass this or is it something I must live with? Thank you so much my friends at LVC.
 
There is no dispute. 2000-2002 V8s have 252 HP. 2003-2006 V8s have 280 HP.
You can swap in any engine from a 2000 to 2002 LS V8, but you really want to stick to the 2002, since it has some improvements in terms of timing chain lubrication and tensioners.
The same engine is used in the T-bird of the same generation. The engine is the Jaguar S-type is very similar, but it is not the same.
Stomp the gas pedal if you want to start in 1st. This has nothing to do with it being an LS or LSE. (LSE is just an appearance package.)
