I am thinking about picking up an HID kit from LSKoncepts. Has anyone installed one of these kits? Do they make a big difference in the brightness etc. of the lights? Can someone explain why there is different colors? I am a newbie when it comes to HID.

I have been running the Xetronic HID kit on my LS for almost three years. You will not believe how HID compares to regular halogen. Really, there is no comparison. Once you have HID's you'll never go back to regular halogen bulbs again. I'm currently running the 4300K kit which is the OEM HID color. Remember that with HID's the higher the lumens like 6000K and 8000K your light output becomes less. Basically, the higher the number the lower the light output. Also, HID's run at a much cooler temperature thus extending the life of the bulb. HID's will typically last 3 to 4 times longer than halogens because they operate at a lower temperature and use Xenon gas as a burning mechanism.

Below is a chart comparing the kits we sell. Also, there is another chart showing the light outputs.

Thanks Ken. That is the type of info I was looking for. You have a PM.

I'll tell you that i didnt know or care too much about different headlights, but after getting the '05 which came with HID's the difference is crazy. I dont think i'd ever buy another car if it didnt come with HID's.

Are the headlights/reflectors different for 03+ LSes with HID versus halogen? i.e. if I were to install HIDs in a would I be blinding other drivers and obviously failing inspection.

Thanks for the input guys. I ordered a kit from Ken at LSKoncepts. I will let you know how they work.

for real.

Installed the Fusion kit from Ken (lskoncepts.com) this morning. I have to wait until it is dark to see the real difference, but they definitely look a lot brighter. The kit was not real hard to install other than the fact there is ZERO room under the hood for controller boxes. Thanks Ken.

this guy dvarela has a thread selling the headlamps for an 03+ ls with HIDs and angel eyes installed.. maybe that would be a better buy...

Do the stock HIDs have the ballast boxes integrated into the headlight housings or what?

Owlman,
Yes. The ballast are under the headlamp. If you were to take your lamp out, you could see a spot where the are supposed to go.

They're already sold (via eBay), according to his thread.
