Hi fella's & ladies of course
I just purchased a 99 Deville in deep Cadillac green with a coco color leather. Got it for a steal being a 1 owner and having heating issues but in excellent condition. It's heater core was leaking. I got it replaced and still had issues,just replaced the thermostat and it seems to have taken care of the over heating but I'm still having an issue. The car when going up a hill is pushing pressure & coolant out of the overflow but it's not over heating. Staying about 250 though,I think it's suppose to be at 210? My next step in the run down is replace the water pump since it seems it may not be flowing properly? The thermostat was actually shot,inner gaskets blown. I have also heard I could have air pockets in the system?
I have a code reader also,I'm getting a misfire in cyl. 8 which is probably the plugs. Not an issue since I'm buying brakes & tune-up parts this week along with the water pump & special tool for the water pump
I am getting a code up P1258 & 1258p/d which my code book tells me is dealer code so do any of you know what that code is is 1 of my questions for you who might know? Thanks for any help in advance,Rob
