So sometimes when I go up a bigger hill the car will act like its having a had time. It kinda shakes and acts like its gonna die. What could cause this. Its an 00 LS8 with 82k, Ive had the VCG replaced, the coils and the plugs. Any info would be great. Thanks in advance.

mine does the same, up hills, and under light acceleration say to pass someone. fellow LvC member drove my car and said his 2000 LS V8 did the same thing he replaced the valve body and it fixed it... try when going up the hill when it starts hesitating put it in D4 from D5 see if it still does it.

Its almost as if the car is in between gears and cant decide weather to go up or down so it kinda jumps back and forth second guessing itself

thats how mines acting. i can control whether or not it does the "hesitation" by lightly accelerating. i'm tired of the dealer saying "no code no problem"

but since i've not fixed the problem i'm not speaking from first hand experience on this 1.

My 2000 ls started doing the same thing about 6 months ago. Droping down a gear helps sometimes, but is not the answer. I am sure the problem is the result of ethanol in the fuel. You can't run the car on regular fuel now. You can cure this by filling up with super premium fuel (Sunoco ultra). Then stepping down a grade until it happens again. Then you will know what octane you need to run. Too bad, this ethanol is a lousey deal!
