just swapped out motors and now the mil comes on when driving. I put the scanner on it and I have a huge list of codes, maf out of range, intake air temp too high, egr, dpfe not opening ect. The only thing I did not reconnect with the ground strap on the passinger side to the body. Any help?

Ground strap could cause all sorts of odd issues. After connecting it, make sure you reset the computer after connecting it by unhooking the battery for a few minutes to clear the codes.

Dose anyonne know where the passenger side ground connects to the body?

I'm surprised the car is even running without a ground. I had a bad ground in a Cougar once, the damn thing freaked out, everything, I mean everything flickering on and off and the car dieseling and turning on and off, wouldn't move 5 feet without shuddering, turning off and on.

Connects from passenger motor mount lower bolt to .... here... I'll take a pic of where it SHOULD go, I moved mine

I'm pretty sure it was the tiny hole in the vertical section of frame. I use a 10 awg wire now, bolted to the outer side of the frame rail

+1 That lil bitty hole!

Mine broke, when I first lowered the engine, didn't know it was there, picked up a lawnmower ground strap at a parts store, it worked.

Thanks guys, went to pick n pull today and found right where it bolts up. I'll bolt it up in the a.m. and report back. Hopfully it will help my problem if not I have no clue. I'm going to clean the main harness connecter as well.

Srpee, I think I love you bro! It works wounderful!! Now, I just need a new head unit it pops when turing it up.

Digital volume controls often do that. It's a bit irritating but I can live with mine, well until a new deck comes along anyway.

Well guy's I connected the ground strap and I still have the mil light on. the car idles high bout 1,100rpms I think it's time for a new IAC.

Naa tps is like 3mo old, IAC is like three yrs old and from autozone..

Ever buy anything and have to take it back immediately upon opening it because it didn't work?
Ever hear of babies dying for some weird reason?
Just because something isn't old, doesn't mean it cant be broken

Update: so after the fun times changing the IAC, it turns out the cruise control throttle cable was not allowing the throttle blades to close. Disconected it and idles as it should. As for the DCT's while trying to swap out the O.E. Egr valve the casting busted so I got one from napa and I feel the spring in the diafram is too weak or too strong becouse, when the ECU comands egr it draws to much vac making the car stumble. To kinda fix the problem, I unpluged the power to the egr vac sol. plugged it back in and no more mil.

Not sure what kind of head unit you have but I'm sure my original is also in as good of shape. It's only a cassette player tho. I never put in a cassette. I removed a perfectly good system because I wanted something newer.
I'm glad it worked after all those years just sitting there! :)
