Can I use a 2005 Lincoln LS 3.0L V6 engine in a 2000 Lincoln LS 3.0L V6.

I just spoke to a place that has a 2005 V6 with 55k and they said that the 2000 V6 cannot be interchanged with any other year V6, has anyone heard this before?

You certainly can't swap between generations (2000=genI, 2005=genII).
Some of the key differences are variable valve timing and electric vs hydraulic fan.
