hey huys i need your help-
LS was kinda had engine sputter, like there was a bad plug so i took to have it checked on the computer at autozone for free.
It said # 3 cylinder was misfiring due to bad plug, wire, or coil or maybe something else.
i have 137,000 miles on it and im not the org. owner-
What do you think it is and what should i do?? money is a factor
thanks

Coils seem to go bad often on these cars going by what I've seen around on this forum. Do plugs then test the coil by trying it on another cylinder and seeing if you get the same code on a different one.

V6 or V8? If V6, big job due to intake removal needed.

oh its the v8 and how do i exactly do this test? replace the wires first?

where do i find the plugs and how hard is it to switch the coil from one cylinder to the next?

:) thanx man- is this a pain to do? looks kinda easy

It's easier on cylinders 1-4, so that'[s a plus... Cylinder 3 is the third from the front on the passenger side I believe

okat got it - so all i do is switch the coil with the one before it and then retest to see if the test shows a problem with a different cylinder. makes sense.
correct me if im wrong

Most likely a coil. Your car is out of warranty unless you have an aftermarket one, and they might not even cover that if you do. IIFC, it's pretty expensive to do at a shop, have any mechanic friends?

no but if its just as simple as the above i can do that
