The first picture shows the piece that broke off. The top rubber part clamps onto the window and the side part with plastic somehow used to grab on to the rail.(second picture shows where it went) The funny thing is the window still goes up and down. I guess the other side is strong enough to carry it

My question is: Can this piece alone be replaced? Or do I have to replace the entire rail?

Also, as you'll see in third picture, i was trying to take the entire thing apart to really get in there, and after removing the bolts i found there are ribbots holding that metal piece onto the door.
Should i leave the installation of this to the dealer? Or should i break those ribbots off?

I was trying to get in there because while i'm driving i hear a whole lot of noice coming from inside the door... i'm trying to figure out what is loose in there, but i couldn't find anything loose.

Anyone had this part break before? Any tips or suggestions?

Fortunately, I haven't had to deal with this issue on an LS. All I have to add is that you don't break rivets off. You drill them out by using a drill bit that is a little larger than the hole in the center of the rivet, but smaller than the hole the rivet is in. After that, you can usually replace the rivet with a well chosen bolt and nut (if you don't have the correct size rivets and rivet gun).

Agreed fully, as for parts I would bet Maxx could get you all the numbers and get you a good price.

That is the broken window regulator problem that a good deal of posts on this site are regarding.
You will be better served to bite the bullet and purchase the complete window regulator for $68 - $120 and remove / replace. Only a couple of steps of disassembly from where you are now, and put it back together again. :)
