Pardon if I've already posted this here, but it's still something I need help with and I've lost track of where I have posted what, and not.
The transmission in my '93 Mark VIII is half-dead - 3rd & 4th gear are gone. I've got a used replacement transmission from a '98 already. I just need to get it in the car.
I don't have a problem turning my own wrench on a job. I just rarely have much idea of what I'm doing. So, I'm looking for help. Is there anyone in the Central FL area that has experience swapping transmissions in these cars, and would be willing and available to help me do this in the near future?
I can arrange for transportation of the vehicle and "new" transmission to wherever we will be getting the work done. I have a floor jack and stands that should put the car up high enough to do the job, if we can't get it on a lift.
Please reply to this thread, or contact me via PM if you might be able to help. I'm trying to get this done ASAP, as this car is my DD, but I don't have enough to pay a shop for the job.
