I Am Almost Ready To Buy A 2000 Ls V6, Car It Has 65,000 Miles On It And In Real Good Shape... I Need To Know The Goods And The Bads, On These Cars.. And What Do You All Think Of The Price Of 8,500 For It Thats What He Will Take.... Thanks.

ask if you can take it to a mechanic, have them look over it. If you don't make sure you get a warranty, these cars tend to have problems(like most cars). But Lincolns are expensive to fix, bite the bullet and get a warranty, I did($2200 3yr/36k) and I had to have my tranny rebuilt, valve cover gaskets done 2 weeks later($5600 in parts + labor). The warranty already paid for itself twice.

Check out my thread that I just posted. This car, especially that year has a lot of problems. Like nick said get a warranty it might make you payments or the price a bit higher but I guarantee youll regret not getting it.

The usual problems (search) are, valve cover gaskets, coils, ball joints, door handle snapping, window regulator, airbag codes, transmission (shifting), rear view mirror leaking, rear lights leaking, front lights leaking, this is just to name a few. You see why the warranty will come in handy, im buying a new one for my LS once i get some grip.

bump.............come on let me know something

Do a search, man. The answers to all your questions are there.

As I've said before, I wish I had a nickel for every time someone asks "What are the pros and cons of the LS". I'm not meaning to be a smarty-pants, but your broad, open-ended question has been asked countless times. The answers are in these threads if you're willing to look.

If you do buy it and decide to go the extended warranty route, make sure you read the fine print and check out the warranty company. There are a few honest ones out there, but most aren't worth the paper they are printed on.

Keep in mind that you are looking at an 8 year old car. Low mileage is one thing, but there are a lot of problems that develop due to time regardless of mileage. If you accept that you're going to spend $1,000 a year on maintenance up front you'll be OK, if you want something that is going to be trouble free this is probably not the car for you.

8500? Booo... I paid 8k for my v8 with the same mileage about a month ago. Tell the guy 7 or to go F*** himself cuz you're not in the mood. That's what i'd do.

Remember, after you've made your best deal and both pretty much agreed upon it, let him know that you expect to leave with a full tank of gas!

NOBODY will want to lose a sale at this point over a tank of gas!

When I bought my LS, the dealer offered it. They even said "if you buy it, we will fill it up"...used it as a $50 sales tool.

get a V8!!! dont waste your time with a V6 unless you're looking for economy. 8,500 seems a little steep for a 2000 V6. Thats what a v8 goes for in my opinion.
