I currently have my DVD player sitting in the trunk, but need to have a more permament mount. I do know that Jeremy/Ellenor has his mounted nicely in the location I'd like: into the plastic that resides behind the rear arm rest once it's folded down. Problem is, I can't quite seem to figure out how he has it actually mounted/secured, and I've had no success in getting tips from Jeremy.

Any one else performed this install? Anyone have any tips on how to secure it properly once the hole is cut, its inserted into the hole?

Thanks

Do you have any pics of Jeremy's install? I can vaguely recall it.

I think he mounted it vertically and so the face of the DVD player only showed through. It was coverd when the armrest was up, correct? I would think that you would have to fasten the DVD player to a piece of wood, maybe some brackets, and mount it to the back of the seat so the face would be sticking through the armrest area.

Thanks for the reply. The only pic I ever saw of Jeremy's install, was what he has on his Cardomain page..which only shows the cabin view..the front of the DVD player being flush inside the armrest area. Your graphics show the install he has..just wondering how the backside looked with regards to support. The brackets that come with the DVD player assume that you are mounting it on the floor, or suspended from the back deck inside the trunk.

This is one of those things I need to sit and think about..look at, give more thought. Your strap issue adds a new lightbulb in my head about this..somehow adding straps that "wrap" around the back of the DVD player supporting it to the seat.

I also might drop by my local Car Audio shop to just get an idea of what they would charge to do it "professionally"..although I'd prefer to do it myself, but do it right.
Thanks

I'm pretty sure I remember Jeremy talking about his DVD install this way. I think he mounted a board with some angle brackets to the back of the seat. Then he mounted the DVD player to the board so that it would protrude far enough through the seat. I'm guessing he used some metal strapping that could be bent, to secure the DVD to the Board.
