Help Identify Sensor

What is the sensor sitting on the passenger side of the bumper just in front of the radiator?

Are you talking about the ambient air temperature sensor?

That's what I guessed it is, however, I'm not sure.

My LS was running uneven and overheating at slow speeds, that sensor was loose and pressed against the radiator, I reattached it, and the car appears to be running normally. Could this sensor be the cause?

AFAIK, that sensor only affects the climate control.
