I was going to change my subframe brackets today but while trying to loosen the bolt 2 out of my 3 15mm 6 point sockets split in half!! MADE IN USA CRAFTSMAN SOCKETS!! I dont know what to do! I drilled the access hole in the fender well to get to the top of the bolt and have been spraying the bolt heavily from every possible angle with Aerokroil for 3 days now trying to loosen it. I live 40 miles from a shop and have limited tools and $ to im kinda screwed. Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks

By front subframe bolts you mean the front brackets on the rear subframe?
Impact gun if you have it, or at least a impact socket.
If you have a torch you could try heating it and letting it cool, just be careful of the rubber bushings.

You can trying applying some heat to the captured nut, if that's what the problem is. However sometimes the bolts rust to the metal sleeves molded into the sub-frame bushings, and are impossible to remove. In that case, a saw is the only remedy
You aren't going to recommend Kroil?

j/k

The problem is not the Kroil. That stuff is AMAZING!! ONLY downside is that it is 25$ a can, but it IS worth it. I got the 2 smaller bolts out of the brackets no problem with that stuff and there were not even any threads left on the bolts.

heat up the nut with a torch. Worked perfect for me. The bolts zipped right out. Kroil and other stuff did nothing for me.

Well, I had no luck with any attempts. After 4 chrome sockets, 2 bolt out sockets, and an impact socket all shattering on me I had to have it taken to the shop. From there they couldn't even break the bolt. So we ended up rigging it.... Cleaned up around the bolt head and drilled out the hole in the bracket to slip it over, while pushing the bracket up into the bushing we welded a washer to the bolt head and to the bracket.. Hope they don't rust out again!!!
