Ok so my wife's car is a V8 01 LS...Everything worked fine yesterday.

Today she goes out and the interior lights won't even come on, I mean it's DEAD DEAD.

I get out my trusty volt meter and check the Batt over 12v ok good (it's also a new batt only a month old). I mess around with the ground cable and the pos cable, a relay clicked in the fuse panel back there and everything came back on. So my question is do you guys think it's a relay or a cable?? Or something I'm not thinking of that is common on these cars. BTW the check charging system light has come on occasionally but it goes right back out and it never drains the batt.

I wish I could help you. I'm experiencing similar problems. Mine's gone dead like that 3 times in the 4-5 months that I've owned it. The battery and charging system all check out OK. I just got it back from the dealership and they removed an aftermarket alarm system that was put on the car before I bought it. So maybe that'll do the trick.

But if I were you, I'd start by replacing the relay. especially since you heard it click. it's gotta be the easiest place to start anyway. let me (us) know what you find out!

Don't know, that used to hapen to my old oldsmobile when the posts got corroded.

That avatar is super :D

Thanks pektel I have better but they made me quit using the first one I put on here.

I was screwing with the ground cable when it all came back on...Also I have moisture all over the spare tire well because of a missing body plug (nice) so I ordered the plug and cable a min. ago...We'll see if that fixes it, if not I'm gonna put on the $151 pos batt cable (awesome) and replace all the relays back there...$15 a pop unless NAPA has some cheaper ones.

Also check the negative where it connects to the body, this has been point of corrosion also.

Wire-brush the posts and terminals, and make sure the cables are good and tight. Then coat them with some anti-corrosive spray or dielectric grease to prevent more corrosion in the future.
