So, I haven't taken this car to the dealer yet because christmas empties your bank account. I'm wondering if anyone know what this problem might be. I wrote in a previous thread that my heater blow lukewarm @ idle, but warm/hot at high revvs. What I noticed now is that the front air vents will blow warm/hot, but the windshield defroster vents are always cold/lukewarm. Even when the other vents are blowing hot. I did the Off/Floor, then Auto test and got 19 on the left and 66 on the right. Even after disconnecting the battery and retesting multiple times.:Bang

Can this be a malfunctioning door or valve?

Any insight would help. If it's just a flap, or if the valve is accessible, I'll just fix it myself. Thanks!:D

I have similar issues. A few things i have noticed and plan on doing.

1. Turn OFF your windshield wiper heaters, as soon as i turn them off the heat is noticeably hotter.

2. Do not place items over the climate temperature sensor grid. This may
cause improper operation of the DATC system. Its located as a vent on your steering column under your gas gauge.

3. If your car is older ( mine is an 02 ) I wonder if the cabin air filter is dirty or needs replacing and/or would cause any problems anyhow.

Just some thoughts...

I think he means the heated wiper park. My 02 has it.

Yeah sorry, its below the windshield defrost, and left of the rear defrost button. it just heats up the area that the wipers sit on. It actually took me forever to find out what the button was for, i had to read the manual.

Ummmm... does the 03 have this button? I know I have the heaters, but I thought it was automatic... Have I been over-looking this button all along?

Thanks for the suggestions! I'll try turning off the wiper heater and see if that changes things.

I always make sure the grid beside the steering is clear and I clean any built up dust around it.

I'll check my cabin filter as well. The command center says I'm at 62% left, so I never bothered to check.

Mine's an '02, since I forgot to mention.

Anyone have any ideas what the codes mean on the DUAC when you do the self-test? The dealer told me that it's the heater core, but he was just quick to judge from the symptoms. I don't think he knew what the code really means.
