Ok, soooo I came out of work only to find that my drivers side headlight was in pieces. Luckily, the person that hit my car by accident left a note and provided her insurance information. Still sucks, but now i'm in need of a head light and a bumper possibly. Once again people don't know how to drive nowadays. Well even though I will be going threw her insurance, what would be a good place to buy these parts. I'm asking only because just like last time I did the work myself to cut costs on the repair (If they send me the check to fix it). So help me out guys and gals, what do you suggest......

Halogen or HID?

Either way, the best place for those parts is probably Tasca. If you can, go for the LSE bumper.

It's her insurances money... Do it right and don't skimp on parts.

You know, that's was actually a very nice thing of that lady to do, the right thing to do!
I best at least 80% look around to see if anyone saw it and drive away.

Now, you could of course "soak" her for all it's worth, her premiums would go up.

If she left a number, you could also phone her first and see what shape she's in and cut her some slack and offer to come to some sort of agreement.

I know, I know ... screw her, her fault and a fat insurance cheque get's you an LSE bumper, possible two brand new "matching" HID's
but ... she could have just as fast left you holding the bill.

Give it some thought, she could be a struggling single mom.
No one says you owe it to her to cut her some slack.

You know, you can find cheaper parts or even used parts that are as good as new
and you could even do all the work yourself and have her pay you cash for your time.

~ just thinking out loud !

but yeah, don't sacrifice on the outcome of the appearance of your LS of course.
It needs to be restored to condition prior to her little back up "oopsy!"

She may very well have plenty of money and she may very well, really appreciate going around the insurance company.

As long as your are compensated for the damaged where you are satisfied.

Good on her for leaving a note though! Not many people would!

Sooooo true...

Yes you are very correct in your thinking, when I actually noticed the damage that was my immediate thought. So i'm very happy that she did leave her information. Now as far as if she has the money or not, that is a yes. I say that because I found out she's a pretty important person at my company. Since I just started working there of course I didn't know who she was or her position within the company. When I talked to her she was fine with going threw the insurance. She was actually surprised I was so calm with the situation. I was just happy that she left a note for me to get it resolved.

All is well, ends well. good stuff, nice to see this kinda of thing.
first reaction is always for people to get a little heated under the collar.

Hey ... and with her being "brass" in the company and her very pleased with how calm you handled
yourself to the situation, you have now idea how many brownie points you just scored.

She won't forget, trust me.
She'll talk, it will get around ... they will recognize.

You two will be smiling at each other in the hallways and such, I can see it now.

I have an extra driver side HID headlight if you are looking to upgrade to OEM ;)

You know, I once had a younger girl slide into me while i was sitting still at a red light. (not LS)
I got out ... I could see her worried look on her face, she was already crying, I signaled for her
to back up a little, it flaked the paint on the rear bumper and left her licence plate bolts imprint.

I signaled the "Not too bad" gesture to her, she was reluctant to roll down the window or get out.

We spoke, I told her not too worry, if I could get her information and if she wanted to go through insurance or not.

We talked on the phone that evening, I told her I could go get it priced out from a body shop and that I even knew some people in that industry.

It was all calmly resolved with a gentle bill of just over 300$ and she met me for coffee
and gave her a copy of the estimate and she gladly paid cash, we talked for a bit and went on our ways.

I remember her two faces, the "crying, worried, scared" look and then her "full of smiles and happy" look.

It was a special moment .... Naaaaa, whom am I kidding, I really wanted to get in to her pants, is what it was !!!

I always have a hard time understanding fender benders that take place in a parking lot with one car parked. Does that parked car suddenly appear? Learning a manual trans maybe?

Hope everything is covered thru insurance
