Hey All,

I'm a new owner of a 2000 LS V-8 with 120,xxx miles on it. Fantastic car! Seems to be in pretty good condition as the previous owner was a car guy, but there are some minor issues like clockspring, window motor, etc. that need to be addressed. Also, I always like to have an experienced guy check my "new" cars over anyway.
I've searched for this topic and found a couple leads, but thought I might post again to see if you all could recommend an LS mechanic in the greater Tampa Bay area? Dealer/Private/Shadetree, all good.

Thanks.

Two excellent mechanics here.

1- Rick Wiedenroth at Sarasota Ford.
Absolute best mechanic I've ever met. 100% honest as well. It's also interesting to stop by his multiple bays at the dealership to see what he's working on. It could be a Ford GT, a 1000hp Mustang, or the dealerships owner's Lamborthini.

2- Mike Moore Auto Repair- it's about 5 miles N. of the airport on 41. It's a traditional repair shop. Excellent reputation, good work, and very fair prices.

im in the tampa bay area also ,Havent been able to find anyone either. Its tough to find people that know what they are doing with these cars.I actually have a guy the im gonna have do some work to mine as soon as i get all the parts together.Ill let you know how it goes. And if it all turns out good im gonna be very happy because of the price hes charging me.He quoted me $300 to do the vcg's,coils, new steering rack, spark plugs, and lowering springs.I know you get what you pay for but i guess its worth a try.He said $35 an hour for labor but hes cutting me a break since theres about 10 hours by the book.Im sure it can be done in a little over half that though.

Wow, damn good price. Good luck.

Yep, anytime you look for a specialist it is much tougher. My other car is a Turbo Buick...boosted mills tend to push the stakes higher when you need some work on them.

I have no problem with driving to Sarasota, would rather go to someone who knows what they are doing!
