Hello Everyone, I am working on my Angel eyes right now for my Gen one headlights. I thought I was fortunate enough to have gray sealant on my headlights, well kinda lol, my driver side headlight is GRAY:) sealant while the passenger headlight is BLACK:mad:. Ford got me on this one, I don't understand why they use two different type of sealant on my headlights.

but anyways the question is, anybody knows where we can buy the Gray sealant? can we buy it at the auto supply shop like oreilly, auto zone or similar places?

The reason why I like to get the gray sealant, it makes it easier to open the headlights, it only took me 10 minutes, the black sealant took me 2 hours :mad: PITA lol, that way if I have any reason to open the headlights again, it will be easy. Thanks everyone.

I'm sure you could find it or something similar that will be pliable with heat like the gray sealant. I know with mine I'm just gonna reseal them with the original gray sealant and then run a bead of black rtv sealant over top of the seal so I can cut it off if I ever need to open them again. Not sure how rtv sealant reacts to heat though.

Agreeing with Hite on that your car may have been in a wreck, most likely it was. In regards to the butyl rubber from TRS, I'm going to attempt to use that.

The car may have been in wreck before you bought it and one of the headlights were broken in the wreck.

Or the previous owner just replaced the lights (like I did) as they may have been deteriorating.

not sure if you can open it back up with this stuff but I can guarantee that they will be water tight. http://www.theretrofitsource.com/product_info.php?products_id=792

Thanks for the info, that looks good, but I might need to open up the headlights again for some unknown reason in the future.

I got my driver side headlight with the gray sealant sealed and done, its my passenger headlight now that I'm working on. I have the black RTV sealant in hand now, but still debating if I'm gonna use it or not, because of the same reason you have, I might need to open the headlights again in the future. The RTV sealant is hard to remove.

This car is original owner since the car was bought 01/25/2001 by my grandpa, and its garage kept and never been in an accident. He passed away :( and the car was left to me.

I saw this Butyl rubber from Google search, a lot of retro fitters uses this on their headlight to reseal it. I searched for nearly two hours and saw from different forums that they use the same product. Nissan dealership sells this stuff, this is the part number B6553-89915, I'm going to the dealer in the morning to buy this stuff and re-seal my lights. :D

Thanks y'all for the input :D

I do it too often, assuming the worst possible outcome. :/ report back on how that stuff works out for you.
