Well i finally rewired the sunroof to work, it works, but it grinds gears. Im guessing thats why it was unhooked in the firstplace. It works only if i help it along. Anyone have ideas on how to get the gears to connect?

Is it a factory unit or ASC. Just to let you know.... ASC sucks balls!

aww man dont tell me that.

my asc has 227k on it ,
are they all bad,or just some,it works great, but now i am scared.
i especially love that you can choose for it to stay open when i turn off the key or to close automatically.

Most of them junk out really quickly, but there are a few that will survive for a long time.

its generic sunroof...i actually fixed it for the mostpart. Apparently my car was a beach car, cuz i put the roof back, and forth again, and all this sand is on the glass, lol. But i took an air hose and blew out as much as i could, and then sprayd some wd in there, and it only grinds when its closing from 98-100% closed.

Hmmm, you think it might be grinding because of the sand?

thats prolly what it is, cuz when i got most of it out, it stopped grindin for the most part. im sure theres big sediments caked together on those last few teeth that its trying to break through, and im sure it will eventually.

How do you get that idea?

My 98 has the Lincoln stock sunroof and the 96 has the ASC sunroof and I prefer the ASC...
