nice, let me know how hard the rears are to install. My bags just started leaking.

For the replacement cost the rears are worth replacing if you ever have rear passengers.

I'm considering putting the fronts in and keeping a bagged rear. Hrm. Those need to be modified for a lower stance.

Rears - it takes longer to take the wheel off than the conversion of the rear struts.

Personally I like the air ride but once they start to leak I would swap them out. I've swapped out 2 of my Mark VIII's with conversion kits, and even though I like the air ride I don't miss the hassle or the cost of repairing the air ride.

Conversion kits will cost you no more than $400 depending upon your deal. The ride they give you is very good, and no more air ride frustration.

Yeah, I was going to keep the rear on air but now the back is down on the ground and I cant get the compressor to pump and to fill the bags anymore. I think I am just going to go down to the junk yard and throw in some t-bird coils for now.

I did the fronts tonight but not the backs. I gotta wake up at 6:30 so I stopped before it got too late. I started at like 6 or so and finished at like 9:30

Jacking up the car slammed took about 45 minutes, and the pass side wasn't too bad, but took me a lil bit because I was trying to get the strut on and it wasn't lineing up the holes were way off.. so I wasted time trying to get it to fit then I thougt they may have to be on certain sides so I tried teh other 1 and it lined up much better( you think they would say, by the way this is for the right side.. but no they didn't) so yea I thought the drivers side would go easier cause I knew what I was doing... WRONG!!! lol upper control arm was seized on and took me about 20 minutes to get off. after that it went easy and I am sorta happy with the results.

When I say sorta I mean because the back is still the air bags and its still running really rough towards teh back. The front feels great

and it was 460 and I get a refund for my old parts

..Yeah, .... I'd have yet to do that! I wasn't trying to come off crooked, pretty much a real question was all!

Post a pic after install if you will.. curious to the front.. those look easy to modify. Are they the lowered setup? I don't like the lowered display car (Craigs) eddie has on his site. The rear seems to sag.

And it's not near low enough.

ther are 1.5 lowered...My air ride was waytoo low when I lowered it, it looked good but I'd always bttm out. and I have no time to trouble shoot the suspension so I switched to coils... to be honist I'm glad... less hassle once I finish.

my fronts took me less than an hour start to finish for both sides... gotta love the impact gun, and air rachet.

It impact is a great help. I don't have a big enough compressor so I picked up an electric impact gun for the time being. It works great taking off those stuborn nuts. Makes the job much quicker.

Rears are so easy.... 5 min job...

After you put the rears in Eddie Spinks has a link on his sight to get ride of the check air ride message. One wire to cut behind the passenger's side kick plate. I've done it on 2 Mark VIII's nice to get ride of that message.

Hey you may want to replace the rear shocks while you are at it. Just go down to a local automotive part store (not Autozone) a real store with people who know what they are doing, and get some shocks for a 96 T-Bird (will cost a lot less). Then cut out the worn out rubber bushings from the old mounts replace the the worn out rubber with the rubber bushings that come with the new shocks. You don't need to re-connect the sensors on top of the shocks. (Cost maybe $30 - $40 for set of shocks)

I finished and it rides so much better than no suspension.. it handles alot better than the air ride I think. It is a lil bit rougher riding butthen again my car is not stock, I have cobra shocks in the back. anyway here are some pics... and I also a, gonna post pics of my upper shock mounts/.. do they look warn? I know the pics arn't that clear but I justw anna know.

nice work, how intense was the rear? do you have to unbolt the brake assembly or do you just slip the spring right in?

factory air bags. I am going to do t-bird rear coils sometime this week, my bags just started leaking
i am curious, how do you get it to work like that? i would think that if you leave the front sensors on, the computer would assume their height is ok and would just keep filling the rears when needed? am i wrong?
