well my car has sat for about 2 weeks. i got my kkm filter today and installed it.

i know i need to replace all the coils.
anyway, i started it up, it was a rought start. i let it warm up for about a minute. i reved it a few times and noticed some smoke coming from under the intake manifold near the exhuast manifold. could it be the valve cover gaskets? ive never replaced them. also do you guys thing i should get the dryer tube and run it from the bumper to the hole under my filter?

is that all the vc gaskets that i need?

There is an actual Valve cover gasket kit part #...that contains all of the parts that you will need. Sorry, but I don't have that kit part #. Im sure someone on here will have it..

I think the part #'s are in the how to guide in the tech section.

oil burning off the manifold is definitely a symptom of vc gasket problem.

XW4Z*6584*DA AND XW4Z*6584*EA. i cannot initiate sales here anymore. pm five star ford a price, but i can tell you listy price is under $10 each.

so does anyone know the part number?

how much do you think a mechanic will charge to do the vc gaskets?

The stealership quoted me between $800-$1000 to do the job. I gave them the finger, bought $100 in parts and spent 10 hours in my garage changing them. I never want to do it again, however, it was worth it not to hand over all of my money to the stealership!

ok i talked to my mechanic, he said about 3 hours labor, maybe more.

now could having pinholes in the coil boot cause oil to go on the manifold, when i started it up it was blowing so much smoke and i knew it was oil burnoff.

Don't know about the v6 but on the v8 the only way for oil to get on the manifold is for the outer gaskets (NOT the ones around the coils)
