My dealer is on crack.

Im not trying to advertise for them but its crazy. I paid 22ish for my 02 a year ogo.

This is the second one I have seen marked down that low.

yeah...same thing here in central VA.

they have been selling the base 06's for 24K.

and even they are sitting on the lot.

too bad...its a fine car

...they are discontinuing the model. Resales are about to drop through the floor. Brace yourself.

I heard the 03+ models are not as reliable...?

youre kidding, right? I had an 02 an now have an 04. The 04, knock on wood, hant had a single problem since Ive owned the car. The 02 had stuff constantly going bad.

1. Coil packs
2. Trans solenoid
3. Valve Cover gaskets
4. Window motors
5. Wheel bearing
6. Diff bearings
7. Lug nuts snapping off
8. Clockspring
9. CD player
10. Fuel pump

And the 02 was supposed to have most kinks ironed out for the 00-02 years of production. These cars have typical problems, but thankfully all of these were under warranty when I owned the car.

Yea they are going cheap, I thought about going to see about upgrading since nothing else has worked but I doubt it, stuck in this baby till its either paid off or dies(hopes not).

Well, all vehicles are usually marked down this time of year to make room for the '07 models, although everyone knows that there isn't going to be an '07 LS. Why is it such a surprise? Assuming you're talking about the base model, that's only a $12,000 savings.

No deals like that in tampa...most are high 30's to high 40's for 06's.
Are you looking online, or on the lots? My dealer was showing their LSes at MSRP on their Web site, but when you went to the lot, they were marked $14K or more off sticker.

FYI, there's a $8K (depending on locale) cash to consumer rebate on the '06 LS, so you shouldn't be any selling prices over $40K. The price on my brand new '06 was well under $30K (~$16K off sticker). One LLSOC member got to more than $18K off sticker when he included the early-out incentives on the lease for his '03 LS.

I've seen brand new LSes advertised at under $25K; even if it's a base model, that's still over $14K under sticker.

I was looking online. hmmm, I may hae to go to a dealer soon! :D

At last count, there were fewer than 4K new LSes left. With the latest incentives, the sales of the LS have picked up a bit in the last month, but that's still a three to four month supplies of the beasties.

Reportedly, loaded LSes are becoming scarce, so if you want one, you might want to get the lead out. There seem to be quite a few base models left, though.

Oh yeah--if you buy a new LS (after some date in late July '06), in additon to the standard 4/50 bumper-to-bumper warranty, you get Lincoln's new standard for '07 6 yr./70,000 mi. powertrain warranty.

you get a free powetrain care warranty with a 100 dollar deductable on 06 models bought after 7/14/06.

I think its good up to 70k

all 07 Lincolns will have a 6 year 70k powertrain warranty, fords will be 5 year 60k.

or something like that lol

this LS MSRP was 42k

You kidding me? I will NEVER buy another friggin' Ford again in my entire life, thanks to this car. I've owned TWELVE RX-7's that are notorious for having problems, and I've been less frustrated with those TWELVE COMBINED than I have with this stupid freaking piece of crap.

One thing to keep in mind with all those incentives is that you have to have a certain credit score to be eligible for those. Mostly a very high credit score.

The only incentive you need good credit for is the 0% financing.

Everything else is factory cash back to dealer/customer or dealer discounts.

and Barwick, if you despise your piece of crap so much, why don't you sell it/ trade it/ give it away/ donate it/ burn it/ have someone steal it instead of whining.

every car make has issues....every one of them. maybe you got a bad one...maybe you can't take care of your ride and it's breaking who knows.

That's only for the low-interest (0% in the case of the LS) financing. But who cares about 0% financing--if you take the $8K off of a $40K LS, at 6.5% over 6 years, you only pay $6,730 in interest, so you're still almost $1300 ahead. And that doesn't count the other incentives (Owner Loyalty, dealer cash, etc) that are making the LS such an incredible deal right now.

I'm almost wishing I had waited a bit instead of buying my TL. I would have much rather had a new LS. However, I have to admit...the resale value of the TL blows away just about everything else.

Resale only matters if you don't plan on keeping a car. In that case, you should probably lease. My 2000 LS has 128K miles and is still going strong!!

Well...of course I don't plan on keeping the car! If I were to keep my cars, I would need a warehouse to store them in and I would be a rich man with some I have owned in the past.

And I've never been a fan of leasing.

In Canada, there throwing LS's at Customers!

Hi Guys and Gals! :)

My first post. I come from the BlueOvalNews forums.
Nice to be here, another great forum.
I work at Ford Motor Company. An hourly employee I am! hehe.

At Windsor Aluminum Plant (Windsor, Ontario, Canada) we make the engine castings for many Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, Volvo, Jaguar, and Mazda vehicles.
And just this past couple of months, we have begun to make the 3.6 litre engine for General Motors. They will put it in their next generation vehicles, including the GMC, Saturn, Buick and Cadillac brand. Joint-Venture's are the way to survive in the Automotive 21st Century I suppose. It's work, and in this economic enviroment, I won't complain. It feels strange though. A Ford Employee, making GM Engines, and qualifying for General Motors Employee discount while I still qualify for Ford's A-Plan employee discount. Weird.;)

As for the Lincoln LS and it's prices. It's to be expected.
I'm really interested. Especially now that the 2006's Qualify for Lincoln's Extended 6 Year/120,000 Kilometer Warranty!
WOW!:D

Here in Canada...whew! Prices have dropped like a lead weight.

Ford knows the residual value of the Lincoln LS will be like a 500 pound man trying to climb a flight of stairs (not a pretty sight or possible one for that matter). hehe. It's only worth it to buy one if your going to drive it into the ground. Let's say 6 years or more.

Here, a fully loaded LS (including delivery charges & all possible options i.e. THX SOUND/NAVIGATION SYSTEM), is $65,000 after taxes.

With the new "Family Pricing" discount it drops $5,000, and the discount for delivery is $6,000 and the additional CAW negotiated $2,000 discount for employees and add the A-Plan discount and applicable rebates...whew...I'm getting winded....oh yes, I can't forget the Graduate discount of $500.00, the No-Charge Oil Changes for 6 years, free brake replacement for 6 years and the ZERO PERCENT Financing for 5 Years!
It brings the price to approximately $45,000 before negotiating! hehehe. If we in Canada still had the Ford Gold Visa Card and its available $7,000 (rebate points allowed in 5 years)....well, Ford might pay me to take the car!

I'm seriously considering it. We at Windsor Aluminum Plant (the casting plant for the Lincoln LS's 3.9 Liter block), have a downweek August 21st. I'm going to do some window shopping of LS's and see what price I can make the salesman whimper yes to.

Trebor.
P.S. Nice to be here. Now if only Lexus Locklear or Jesse Jane would help me "break in" a new LS!:D I KNOW THEY MUST LIKE LINCOLNS!:D

The Cash Incentives Just Keep Coming!

Well, when you think it couldn't get any better, it does.

We Ford of Canada Employees are getting letters in the mail. It's an additional summer bonus for 2006/2007 vehicles.

My future Lincoln LS with the Ultimate Package just dropped another $3,000.00 :D

Here's an abbreviated lowdown of the latest cash incentives for Lincoln. It can be combined with current cash incentives.:) I can't scan and attach the whole thing, it's too big of a size.

SUMMER OFFER FOR FORD OF CANADA EMPLOYEES AND RETIREES.

Lincoln Zephyr $2100
Lincoln Town Car $3,300
Lincoln LS $3,000 :) YES!
Lincoln Navigator $4,200
Lincoln Mark LT $3,000

We at Windsor Aluminum Plant have a downweek August 21st. I think next week I'll go shopping!;)
Now if only Ford can stay afloat. Geez!

Take care,
Trebor.
