I yunk the 5spd out of my 2000 ls to free up the shifter
its stuck in 3rd and I'm pretty sure the rail is worn holding it

before I sperate the case I want to be sure I'm not going to damage the front seal or bind anything

if anyone has a rebuild manual or knows if I can just unbolt the housing and seperate the case I'd really appreciate it

If you don't want to post it you can email it to me

There are no rebuild manuals from Ford, they consider it a factory sealed unit. I have also been unable to find ANY rebuild parts for sale ANYWHERE. I even contacted Getrag:
Hello Dustin,

our engineers looked well into our archives but found nothing more than the drawings (which are confidential). But I can refer to the manuals of the mass product 220 (BMW) that is more or less identically constructed.

I hope this helps.

Kind regards
Sascha Ondrazek

So does BMW have rebuild manuals?

Wow, and now the LS is losing whole transmissions for replacement parts? Geez...

Did a quick check, and it seems that the 1998-2008 Jaguar S-type used an AJ-V6, which was supposed to be a modified version of the Ford 3.0 V6 that included variable timing. And, it also seems that the same car used a Getrag 221.. Since they used the AJ-V8 in the LS, one would have to wonder if they used the same V6 and trans in the Jaguar as they did in the Lincoln. Since Ford owned both at the time, it would make sense that they did.

So, I'd suggest checking to see if you do indeed have the same trans as the Jag, and if so see if you can get what you need from a Jag dealer. Good luck, hope this helps.

Jag is the same box. They (LS MTX) show up regularly on ebay for ok prices (if you trust used units).
