I am going to take a stab at changing the lights in my window switches from green to blue or white (haven't made up my mind yet). While I was at it, I wanted to see if there is a way of adding the auto-up feature to the drivers window and auto-down/up to the passenger front. Does anyone know if the Gen2 switches will fit in the Gen1 panel? I looked at a few photos from past threads and the Gen1 switches front and rear buttons seemed to be spaced farther apart than the Gen2. If not, I could try modifying the switch. Ideas?

As far as auto up/down goes, it doesn't matter if the switches fit. The auto up/down feature isn't contained in the switch assemblies.

Ah, I see. Is this an FEM controlled function or another controller in the door? I'm going to try changing the color in the switch any way, but just wanted to see if I could add that function while I was at it. Thanks for the info.

On gen II, the auto up and down features for the front windows are a function of the electronics built into the window motors themselves. The auto up/down features of the rear windows are a function of the REM (no electronics in the rear window motors).
