Gen 2 rear view mirror in a Gen 1?

The plug seems to fit perfectly, but will the autodim work? There is a place for another plug on the Gen 2 mirror, but Im assuming it is for the lighted button. It seems to fit fine, but will it work properly? Thanks

Yes, you can attach a Gen II mirror to a Gen One without much effort. If you want the puddle light and blinker to work, more stuff will have to be done.

Im talking about the rear view mirror, not the side mirror.

Ah.... that other wires might be for the compass module? In late /5 (I think, cause my 95 had it) and 96 the compass module is behind the mirror.

Yeah, I'm not familiar w Gen 2 but my '96 has the compass module behind the mirror so I'd assume if the gen 2 is the same, you'd need a (according to Unity) Late '95 or '96 rearview.

Just some extra feedback. .. .
