Gen 2 Rear Bumper Question

Ok, I think I heard others talk about it .. I got a first gen LS, now the bumper needs repainting its starting to chip, i was thinking of getting the Gen 2 bumper with the back up sensors, I do think its impossible, i would have to get the Gen 2 trunk as well ?

The bumpers will bolt on but there are several differences. First, the rear deck lid would need to swapped over or have a body shop do some major work to make the rear bumper work on your existing deck lid. Second is that you'll need the bumper and lower rear valance because those are different. Third, you'll need to re-route your exhaust tips to come out the new exhaust ports in the bumper.

Nothing is impossible with time and money. However, your best bet is to have the existing bumper painted and add an aftermarket back up system. More than likely that would be cheaper.

you can actually buy sensors that will pop in your bumper, you just cut the hole and thats it. easier said than done lol

Or just realize you aren't driving a 40' school bus, and just look over your shoulder to make sure you don't hit anything. Backup sensors are for amateurs. Paint the existing bumper.

Have you seen that thread. It is a complete 2003 rear end on a 2000 LS. Of course his was insured.

The 03+ LS lower valance is three pieces. The 00-02 LS lower rear valance is one big piece. The reason the 03+ LS lower valance is three pieces is because of the exhaust port cutouts. I haven't seen anyone attempt to put the 03+ lower valance on the gen 1 LS but can't say for sure if it will fit.
