Ok a little background:
My 01LS V8 was misfiring really bad due to a bad valve cover/ COP gaskets allowing oil down the plug to foul it out. I work about 20min away and it is all highway which was the worst for the LS because it would sputter really bad unless above 3K rpms.

So I drove the only back up car we have around right now which is my brothers 1986 Buick Regal Turbo T-type. A very clean lightly modded car that is his pride and joy. Well while at work it was stolen. Needless to say we are very pissed (all Buick owners/enthusiasts here at my house)

Now to my point. I can not afford at the moment an alarm system, and my LS was already broken in to a couple months ago. I want to put in a hidden fuel or ignition cut off switch to prevent a theft. The cops said the mall I work at has @ a theft or 2 A DAY!!! I have a feeling my LS would be a prime target so I want to prevent this from happening again so if anyone has done this or has a good idea of what wires and how I should go about it, please let me know.

BTW to anyone who lives in STL look out for this car!

current look:

Well, there's a chip in the key that prevents the car from starting without the correct, coded key. The LS isn't high on the stolen cars list anyway:

For 2009, the most-stolen vehicles* in the nation were:

1. 1994 Honda Accord
2. 1995 Honda Civic
3. 1991 Toyota Camry
4. 1997 Ford F-150 pickup
5. 2004 Dodge Ram pickup
6. 2000 Dodge Caravan
7. 1994 Chevrolet pickup (Full Size)
8. 1994 Acura Integra
9. 2002 Ford Explorer
10. 2009 Toyota Corolla

Any car can be flat-bed stolen and an alarm/kill switch won't help.

I understand any car can be flat bed stolen but I park in a parking garage at work so i don't see that happening. These people are looking for something quick and a flatbed isn't quick.

So your saying that my 01 LS couldn't be hoped in and hot wired or something? I am just trying to make it more difficult for these :q:q:q:q:q:q:qs to get anything specially the car.

Thanks,
Lee

its gonna be hard to get one to start without the key. the pats makes sure of that.
they do get broken into though, apparently no shock sensor so they just bust out a window.

They would need the right kind of scan tool and would have to wait just over ten minutes to program two new keys (which they would need to have as well). They would also have to pick the lock or hotwire it. That rules out the low end car thieves, and the high end ones aren't going to bother with an LS.
