I was wondering if anyone knew of a solution or what's cause this... my 97' LSC Mark Viii is acting weird... sometimes when I put gas in it'll tell me I have like 12 gallons... I'll drive home (a couple blocks)... get back in later and it'll say I have 8 gallons... then when I turn it off again it'll jump back up... but sometimes it stays down... I thought at first maybe it was cause it was on a slope... but it doesn't have any affect that way... I tested it... you can sit in the same spot and it'll change once and awhile... it's just kinda scary I don't wanna get stranded thinkin I have more gas than I really do... any help would be appreciated

Run some Redline fuel system cleaner in your gas a few times. It should help out with inconsistent gas readings.

Thanks... would that do the same thing as Seafoam?... I was thinkin of tryin that... but I don't know what the hose looks like for the intake... I was gonna do half in the tank and half through the intake... would that help any?

I don't know... I'm no expert... I'm thinkin I'm gonna try some cleaner... hopefully that'll help... I doubt the previous owner has done anything like that... he was pretty old... i figure about 50 when he bought it... he was like 60 something when I picked it up a couple months ago so yeah

ALL Mark VIII's REQUIRE that you shut off the ignition when refueling. Get in the habit of doing that and your problem will likely disappear. If that doesnt fix it you need a new fuel quantity sensor.
