I tried posting this earlier, but it never showed up so I am posting it again. After many years of joy, I have decided to sell my 1997 Mark VIII. The car was my daily driver from 2006 until August of last year, after my wife and I had our first son. Since that time, it has been driven very little. I have attached a link to my Craigslist ad for more details, but would rather the car go to a Mark enthusiast who will take better care of it. I am willing to come down on the price for the right buyer. I just hate to see it sitting in my driveway, and want it to go to a good home.

Feel free to ask me any questions you have. The car is located in Monroe, Louisiana. Thanks.

I will try to address some of the common concerns with these cars. I have personally spent hours working on this car getting everything in the best condition I could. The paint is in great condition other than the front bumper. The previous owner had it resprayed at some point and it is flaking in areas. There is no structural damage to the car and only minimal dents. There is one spot of rust on the entire car, top of the car where it was scratched down to the metal. It's just above the driver's door. I was not happy when this happened. The rear window still has the original trim, with no wrinkles or warping. The door handles were swapped for Continental handles after the passenger handle broke. They are the new style handles with built-in counterweights.

The air ride system works 100%. I also recently installed new vibration isolators on the compressor.

Both the A/C and Heat work. The blend door was replaced 3 years ago, and reinforced when installed.

It still has working factory HIDs (Sylvania 9500 bulbs).

It has a complete factory JBL stereo system that still works, including the 10-disc changer in the truck.

There are no rips or tears in leather, although the driver's seat is fairly worn. Otherwise, the interior is in good shape.

The steering column works but one tab broke off of the potentiometer so if you put it all the way in, it won't go back in once it comes out. I have kept the easy entry off for this reason. The tab can be moved back in place and the column functions again. I do have an extra 100% working potentiometer that goes with the car. The steering wheel has some cracks on it, but it is still in good shape.

The car has Octastar rims in great condition, with no flaking and only minimal curb rash. I also have an extra center cap for these rims.

The car runs and drives well. The motor is strong and has no loss of power. The transmission still shifts flawlessly.

I really enjoyed this car, but honestly do not have the time or proper use for it anymore. Like I said, I am willing to make a deal if you're interested. Let me know if you have any more questions. Thanks.

Matt
