How the hell do you get this nut off!?!? I have an 18" breaker bar with a 36mm socket on it, & can't break it loose!?
is that a hard job? i think mines got a bad bearing... one of my front wheels keeps heating up and its not a dragging brake ive already replaced all that and checked. I just get one side thats real hot after trips while the other side is normal.
Yes it would. These bearings usually carry a torque requirement of 225 to 250 ftlbs during installation. My neighbors 03 cobra had a left rear hub bearing which was undertorqued from the factory it only had 3 threads showing. We tightened the wheel the next day, and he drove around for 5 minutes. His wife couldn't touch the wheel it was so hot. Bearing made no noise whatsoever.
thats because it sounds like you overtorqued it andcrushed the bearing
My specs from my 93 disc said like 251 so I put it at 250 replaced all 4 wheel bearings in the last month no noises what so ever. Cobra hubswap.... getting those rear knuckles apart was a nightmare for my friend. Oh and i got this torque wrench which is amazingly awesome. Its call the Brutus from snap on makes removal of those 36mm nuts very easy.
Install new front axle wheel hub retainer and tighten to 255-345 Nm (188-254 lb-ft).
