a couple of weeks ago I changed uca's, lca's, strut tower bushings, and sway bar stablizers. Tie rod ends have no play in them so I left them. Backing out of the driveway to go get alignment, I hear and feel a pop when I cut the wheel to back out. Seems like it came from driver side front. I get the car aligned, but in two weeks, backing out of the driveway again. I hear a pop and the car is back out of alignment. With the steering wheel straight, the passenger side wheel appears to be were it should, but the driverside wheel is toe in. Could it be the teeth in my rack somehow?

The rack is the only place something like that could happen. Assuming the inner and outer tie rods are in place. Also when the aligned it they would have noticed anything else loose.

it seem like when I backed out with the wheel cut, with the pressure on it, it may somehow extended it self out alittle more on just that side.

I wish I could say for sure, I dont know much about the rack. But I though that is was one piece from end to end.

My car makes a pop noise whenever I back up and then go forward. Could be a rack or brakes for me. But my alignment is staying right on, unlike yours.
