Crapped out on me last night, was a bugger to get the door apart - unlike the rear doors which are a sinch.

Is teamford.com still the best/cheapest place to get new ones?

Any tips for putting the whole mess back together?

Oh yeah, if anybody knows a part number to look it up on Team Fords website that'd be appreciated.

I got mine at my local dealer for 125. Service guys where great there, it was a real bummer the dealer close down :(

I think my rear passenger might be going out. The window takes a while to start, then lowers super slowly, but if I tell it to go up, it goes right up.. Which is weird.. Maybe my Infiniti Kappa Crossover is in the way.. Been too cold to work on car unfortunatly.

It's not too bad. I did the passenger front last week with the assistance of these write ups. It took me 35 minutes. The only mess up I had was forgetting to put the moisture barrier back on afterwards. Had to take the door back apart again! You can do it!

Sweet, I ordered it from www.directfordparts.com, was $103 plus shipping = $114.

Yeah, I'll definately do the work myself putting it back together, it was just a bugger.

Took 45 mins just to get the whole works apart and put a 2x4 in the door to hold up the window. I did take EVERYTHING out of the door though, I couldn't work around that shield everything is mounted to. Should have tried harder though, without putting it all back together I have no windows, door locks, etc, and the door binger is going off the whole time .

When you roll it down can you hear the motor moving before the window starts to go down? If so it is likely that the window is detached from the bottom support (the piece driven by the motor). When you roll down it sticks in the frame a little and goes down with gravity. When you roll up it behaves as normal. Try this... roll down half way, grab the window and pull up gently... if it moves you need to replace the unit. Exactly what happened to me.

Take the key out :D Glad everything went well.

FWIW my rear p/s and d/s windows make a 'clap' sound. it occurs when the window is down at all and i go to roll it up and as soon as the top of the glass meets where it stops it makes a noise you would make if you clapped your hands once. does anyone elses do this? basically each window 'claps' once when i roll it all the way up.

When say "replace the unit".....what unit? The regulator or the glass/support portion? Mine does this every once in awhile.

My window regulator was replaced under warranty. As far as I know the glass support piece is part of the window regulator. I didnt actually see what was broken in my door, just made the assumption. This was the PS rear door.

Got the part this morning, and it's installed, took about an hour.

Not near as hard putting it back together as taking it apart, except for trying to find all the nuts+bolts+screws my wife so handily cleaned up for me  - she's great though, I don't hold it against her.

Thanks for the advice and how-to link guys.
