Fox distorts evidence to invent new White House/artists scandal

A FoxNews.com article distorted a report about a meeting Obama administration officials had with artists, falsely claiming that the report indicated that the White House "convened" the meeting in order to "push the president's domestic agenda." In fact, it reportedly was the artists involved -- not the White House -- that originally requested the meeting, and the Fox News article itself stated that one of the co-authors of the report that the article cited "said there was absolutely no pressure on any of the artists to follow a political line."

Again, media matters is not a credible source. You have to provide independent verification for the points raised by them to be taken seriously.

Or are you simply looking to spam media matters...

The author of the FoxNews.com article lied that the "report" indicated that the White House "convened" the meeting, when the report actually says that it was the artists involved -- not the White House -- that originally requested the meeting.

Here's the report they're talking about - http://www.foxnews.com/projects/pdf/092309_meetingnotes.pdf#page=4

Outside of Media Matters claims, do you have any proof that fox news "lied"?

I am too lazy to go read your sources and do the legwork myself. It is up to you to spell it out for me here.

Besides, you are a "lawyer". You should be able to do the research on that and make a coherent argument citing credible sources in your sleep.

FYI: "proof by assertion" does not count as "proof".

QFT.

Yes, the "report" mentioned in the piece.

What, the fox news report? So you automatically assume Media Matters is right and if the fox news report doesn't line up with the narrative they claim then the Fox News report is lying?! That doesn't constitute proof to any critical mind.

You need to provide objective proof that fox news is somehow being deceptive here and not Media Matters. If anyone should get the benefit of the doubt here it should NOT be Media Matters (who you ARE giving the benefit of the doubt to) because they have a history of blatant distortion and deception. They have no credibility.

Nope, the report on the meeting mentioned in the fox news report.

Can you form a coherent argument? Maybe cite specific passages IN CONTEXT that would conclusively PROVE what you claim? Remember, like you, I am too lazy to do the legwork on this. LOGICALLY connect the dots for me.

Why do you assume that I actually care what you think, dude?

DUDE!It isn't just me. Unless you can back your arguments up and logically and CIVILLY defend those arguments, you are wasting everyone's time on this forum. Is your goal to promote an idea or to simply spam and frustrate any civil conversation? Dude.
