im going to be heading back to idaho in a couple of weeks from a summer for work in cali, my paint on my car is looking pretty beat up and would like to detail it when i get back. when we first got here in May the apartment manager told us that they would be respraying the car port roofs so he warned me to park away. i thought i parked far enought around the corner when they were spraying my spot but i guess i didnt and managed to get some over spray on my car. my question is, a clay bar will get it off wont it, if so is there a cartain brand you recommend? over the counter stuff

clay bar should do it. probably try clay magic blue. available at autozone. if that doesn.t work, try laquer thinner on it. put the laquer thinner on e microfiber towel first, then rub the surface gently. this would only work if it was a laquer paint though. but it.s worth a shot.

alright thanks ill give it a try, and is a clay bar safe on windows? it wont leave any impossible streaks to remove or anything will it? thats probably the most noticable place that you can see the overspray, my paint is dark blue and naturally has little silver flakes in it so the overspray on there isnt too noticable but my windows are black and the white dots stand out pretty good.

it is absolutely safe to use a claybar on glass. Just never use a claybar without the clay lube. If you run out, you can use a quick detail spray, or as a last resort, you can use a diluted car shampoo solution.

yea i read somewhere that a lot of people use the spray detail stuff, i have some that i use to get water spots off after washing, seems not matter how long i take to dry, when i get home from the wash it always seems water has ran out from somewhere. by the way thanks for your input, cant wait to get home and give it the cleaning it deserves after beingout in this cali heat and dust all summer.
