Had the pleasure of hitting a tractor trailer tire that was sprawled out in the road. Miraculously, there was only cosmetic damage. The passenger side fog light was gone along with the harness and the other was untouched, but not functioning after impact (they were on at the time).
I soldered on a replacement harness and installed two new lights, but they still don't work. I have inspected all the wiring, and even swapped relays under the hood (with the horn) and back again to be sure that was okay. Also, the little green indicator comes on when I pull out the switch to turn them on. There is no mention of a fuse in my book; is there one there somewhere?
Any other ideas?
Thanks

(Oh, and now i have to polish my headlight lenses since the fogs are making them look bad!)

Get a test light and test every fuse to see if any are blown. When the harness broke both wires may have touched blowing the fuse. Easy place to start...

My owners Manual says: under the hood fuse box location 3, 15Amp and relay #7.

+1
Check the fuse box under the hood. In my gen2, there are only 3 15amp fuses in there and one is for the fogs.

Mine haven't worked in about a year. The green light (on the headlight switch) is on, fuse and relay are both good. I replaced the headlight switch and still nothing. I believe the fault is in the ground some where. I hooked up a switch to the relay and grounded it, which turns on the fog lights.
I don't have any idea where to look for the fault. I wasn't in an accident so we may have different problems all together.

The control [ground] signal to the relay should come from the FEM.

thanks guys- the fuse is blown
(this is me waiting to say it was the issue until I get the new one in and they turn on :) but this looks like the culprit)

And looking back, its in my book so sorry for the inconvenience. Hypothermia must have been setting in.

You can swap another 15 in there jst to check if it's the problem....or just wait till you buy one.

Yep, it was just the fuse. Just popped a new one in. The new fogs came with the normal bulbs which are quite a bit dimmer. Need to swap in the silverstars and aim them up a tad too.
Thanks again.
