I'm about to upgrade my light bulbs visibility and Im wondering what color should i go best. Im between blue, super white or yellow fog light bulb colors. I cant decided wether which one will be best on rain, fog, and pitch black night time visibility. and what brands would you guys recommend to get?
Thanks.

why not HID's? if your gonna go HIDs I would say 6000k or even something lower 4300K for even better visibility

Yellow light will always give you more visibility. Ever notice how everything looks when you put on yellow safety glasses? Same thing happens with yellow bulbs.

Yeah, I am going thru the same issue right now too. I just upgraded to 6k hid in the low beams and the Hoen fog light bulbs seem off white now. So I have been thinking about going to yellow bulbs for the fog lights, that and to give it a different look.

ebay you can get a set for 63.95 shipped i did and they work great

+1 on the ebay HID kits. There cheap, price wise (probably quality wise too) but i have used my fog kit and lowbeam kit for well over a year with no issues at all an tons of compliments. Gotta be careful going too yellow with the fogs, espically with the HID's, i think the "yellow" or 3000k can start to look kind of ricey. If you wanna go "yellow" I might just stick with using bulbs and upgrading your harness'. Just my two cents.

Yellow, dont do HID if you want to actually use them in the fog! It produces way to much light.

Yup, like I said the other day. When I used to Snowboard I would always get amber or yellow goggles, helps with shadowing and reduces glare from any reflective droplets of snow, rain and moisture in fog. The higher in Kelvins the more colors get scattered through the droplets of moisture intensifying both the prism and the wall effects.

Take a look at some parking lot lights and shipping and receiving areas at night. Ever wonder why they use yellow or amber lights?

How about off road vehicles? They use Yellow bulbs for functionality.

If you really want HID I suggest to at least go with Yellow or lower on the Kelvin scale. Vehicles with HID in fog lights dont have fog lights they are driving lights. In actuality the LS uses the 9145 which is much like the High beams, so the LS is one of those cars where it really is just a driving light more than a fog light.

I went with 3k HID's on my LSE fogs and the visibility was awesome...before I had Nokya Yellow Bulbs

Are you using them in situations foggy enough to actually put the lights to use?

3k, that's still pretty low though. I would definitely not go above 4500K.

Nokya's are awesome bulbs and they last pretty damn long!

And on the LS they are mounted to low to the road to be effective driving lamps, better left yellow for fog or snow.

Yeah, thats the info I got from lighting faqs and other sources on HID planet.

With the yellow bulbs they work perfect for fogs regardless of out put. I gotta drive through some farm areas early in the morning and late at night and anyone else that does knows how foggy some roads can get around some farm lands at certain times of the year. Usually more smelly times of the year on those roads also.
