In the process of putting my Focus pump in I noticed something was missing.
No check valve, I double checked to make sure it wasnt internal... nope.. you can blow right through.
the check valve is built into the line from the top of the pump basket to the tophat on the tank.
We managed to get the line off of the Focus tophat and used the new line with the check valve.
BTW both socks for the focus assembly are the same as the Mark and the sending unit is the same as well. If your sending unit is getting dead spots in it you can remove the Focus sending unit from the metal bracket (which is upside down from the Mark) put it in place of your Mark sending unit and swap your Mark float arm over. (focus arm points the wrong direction)

:wrench

Same pressure every start up for two days, seems to have fixed the issue. Runs like a top again.

Thanks for this post. I had just the pump replaced and it has starting issues. Now I know why. Do you know if they sell the top hat part separate?
