Flexible primer needed for painting grill and surround?

I'm planning to paint my grill/surround in the next little bit and I'm trying to get my materials together.

Do I need flexible primer for the grill?

I know rustoleum makes a primer for plastic:

but I'm not sure if its required.

I plan on using bulldog to help everything stick.
