I got a flat on the highway and of course I couldnt just buy one tire, I needed to buy 2 new front tires. So now I have a decent tire left over, and was thinking of using that for a full size spare. What I want to do is get a 16" steel rim from the junk yard and mount the tire on that. I'd just buy another chrome wheel to match, but don't have that kind of money. My problem is finding a steel wheel that will fit. Has anyone ever done this? Does anyone know of a car that had 16" steel wheels that would work on the LS? Or have the correct specs for the stock 16" chrome wheels on a 2001 non-sport? I tried searching for this and couldn't find anything I needed. Thank you for any help.

Bolt pattern is 5 x 108... was there a chrome 16" wheel? I've only seen 16" alloy 5 spoke

Isn't there an offset I need to worry about to clear the calipers? Yep, they at least made 1 car with the chrome 16s, cuz i got them :) .

Nice color... that's the dark blue, right? I think the offset is 35, but i might be wrong...

Thanks. Yeah it's the dark metallic blue. I love how all the chrome looks against that color, real luxurious. Im very glad I got the non-sport V8. Except for the full size spare they didn't put in the non-sports. I don't understand that logic. Thanks for the info. Does anyone else know anything? Ever do what I'm doing?

I have the factory chrome 7-spoke wheels 17" (see pic gallery), i decided to buy an extra matching chrome rim and had it mounted with a matching new tire. I got a good deal on the rim off of ebay and in the unfortunate event i get a flat i think its great to just swap a matching wheel which buys you some time dealing with the flat, either repairing or replacing. I dont care too much for the factory spare being only a temporary solution to a flat. The only SNAFU i ended up with is the tires i have are directional so depending on which tire goes flat the tire may be mounted incorrectly but thats not a big issue. To my surprise a factory 17" rim mounted with a larger tire still fits perfectly in the trunk. If a fifth wheel can be located for a decent price i'd highly recommend it to anyone. Just my opinion.

P.S. - I got my spare factory chrome rim for under $100, i'd think you could get the chrome 5 star wheel like yours for a really good price off of ebay. Three chrome and one steel would look kinda tacky. Again, just my opinion.
