My brother and I are going to take my Mark VIII and his 64 Fairlane to Fayetteville N.C. dragway on Sunday. Hope to have some videos and time slips to show. Anyone else interested please let me know.

Well I had a very very good day. It ran 12.5 -12.6 all day. It out ran a GTO, Challenger SRT-8, and a Shelby Cobra. I posted two videos of my first two runs on you tube from my camera. I tried to post a link on LVC before I went to work but the site was down for some reason. Will do so in the morning. I got a hand full of time slips but my printer isn't working so soon I will go to my brothers and scan them to post. After the first two runs a friend with a better camera came and took over. I'll get those videos later and post. http://www.youtube.com/user/DonsCobraMarkVIII

Links to videos

These two videos are my first two run taken by my brother with my camera. The first run was with a black GTO. I launched at 2000 rpm's and got a red light by 3/100 but ran 12.7 The next run was a Silver Challenger SRT-8 and I launch at 3000 rpm's . http://www.youtube.com/user/DonsCobraMarkVIII After these two a friend of mine with a better camcorder took over and I will get them later

I wish I could have gone to that. I had too much going on Sunday and didn't have time. I only live about 45 mins away from Fayetteville. That would have been a lot of fun.Any chance it may happen again any time soon?

I'll do my best to let you know.

What was your best MPH? I'm actually more interested in MPH than ET.

Top end was 106 mph. If you watch the video at the end it shifts and locks up the converter to soon and it falls out of the power band. Ive seen some other Marks on videos do this. I'd like to pinpoint the cause and the solution and get the mph up. Anybody out there know how to improve this ???

Lockup is controlled in the tune. Your tuner will need to spend a lot of T&T data log time at the track with you to get it right. I have been doing it for years with Aric, and not finished yet, but he finally has everything going in the right direction where the et is lower and the mph is higher. :) Good luck with that! :)
